Does Shakeology Taste Good?

My First Shakeology Share!

This was me a year ago. Liz and I are both still drinking Shakeology today, along with a whole bunch of family and friends.

It’s curbed our cravings, given us energy to LIVE life with our toddler boys, and tastes great.

Talk about an easy way to get all your veggies for the day in one serving!

There are tons of recipes and a new flavor was just introduced at our coach summit this week.

Liz looks even more amazing now then she did then.

Send me a note if you have any questions!

Happy Friday! (As I enjoy my chocolate-y all natural breakfast today…)

Insanity Asylum, Day 19 – Game Day and Overtime

This was the second time that Game Day came up in the 30 day schedule.

I’m a former athlete. I played basketball and softball in high school and softball in college.

Drills and hard work are normal for me. I’m accustomed to that.

THIS workout takes it to a whole new level.

I’m not going to tell you it was “no big deal” or that it “wasn’t bad”.

In my opinion, it was KILLER.

The Game Day workout is 60 minutes long. It starts with a short warm up with the agility ladder (honestly, I’ve never done such intense warm ups before, lol).

Next comes a 6 minute mile run which consists of some high knees, kick backs on the butt, one arm down in a plank-like position while running “up hill”, and a sprint at the end. Don’t get tired yet!

Shaun T also includes, soccer kicking drills that build like a pyramid, tennis drills with the agility ladder, basketball lay up drills that also include a little bit of shot faking in the triple threat stance, basketball jump shot drills, swimming drills on the floor, wrestling moves, football drills with the agility ladder, long jumps with the agility ladder, speed skating drills (DANG), a few 100 meter dashes, and some pitching and hitting drills at the end with mountain climbers and vertical jumps incorporated into them.

I’m not kidding around, and Shaun T isn’t either. He tells you that from the beginning.

You know how on most workouts you can skip past the warning in the beginning? This one won’t let you!

I really enjoy this workout. It’s a great sweat, calorie burning workout.

If you are use to INTENSE workouts, give this one a try. It’s incredible. I can’t believe what it’s especially done for my core and my shoulders already.

Have you done the Asylum? What are your thoughts?

Have You Eaten Your Frog Yet This Week?

Brian Tracy is the author of Eat That Frog.

In his book he talks about time management, getting more done, and having more time to do what what’s most important to each individual on any given day.

I have incorporated many of his strategies into my every day life and what a difference it has made. He particularly talks about putting your biggest, ugliest, “i don’t want to do that” task first on your list of things to accomplish in the day. Take care of that before anything else. When you do, the rest of your day is a piece of cake.

We find that we can accomplish anything, and honestly, have accomplished more, by having done that task rather than just crossing off the little things on our list that mean little or nothing.

Earlier in the week I ate a HUGE frog! I was a teacher before our son Anthony was born 2 years ago. After having him, there was no doubt in my mind I wanted to be a stay at home mom.

I found Team Beachbody offered home business opportunities, and decided since I have had great results with their products, would love getting discounts on their products, and I didn’t have to carry inventory or have to hold home parties away from my already busy schedule, this was a no brainer.

I have enjoyed it so much that I want to expand working in this field. I thought about registering to get certified as a personal trainer.

That was awhile ago.

It was on my list, but I kept putting it off. Not this week.

First thing Monday morning…I registered for ACE personal trainer certification! Boy, what a great way to start the week!

So, my question to you is….what’s your frog? What is it that you have been putting off that will really make a difference once you take care of it? When will you accomplish it?

Do you write your goals down on paper weekly? Do you write a daily to do list? Does it just have tasks on it like: groceries, gas, laundry, pick up Johnny from soccer? Or does it contain those, plus tasks that will really move you in a positive direction towards your goals in life?

If you’d like, feel free to send me your frog. Often times, getting it down in writing really helps us stay accountable. It did for me!

If any of you are interested in more information with the income opportunities with Team Beachbody (and the 25% discount) send me a note too. I’m happy to help you.

Lions, and Tigers, and Omega 3’s…Oh My!

I’ve been reading a lot about Omega 3’s lately and really figured I needed to do some research on this.

Do I get enough of them in my daily diet?

I have a Shakeology each day for breakfast, beans or tuna for lunch (sometimes a bit of both) often with some organic spinach, an array of fruits for my afternoon snack, and usually some sort of grilled chicken or soy meatless protein option for dinner.

I always associate omega 3’s with fish…so if I only have tuna a few times a week, am I getting enough?

What else in a normal diet contains omega 3’s?

Do I need to take a supplement? Hubby takes a fish oil/omega 3 supplement every morning. Should I be taking this too?

As a stay at home mom, I’m moving around with our son a lot. I need to find a way to be sure I can get them in with something quick to make.

I read that salmon, flax seeds, and walnuts are the best sources of omega 3’s. Also, scallops, cauliflower, cabbage, cloves and mustard seeds are really good sources. Good sources include halibut, shrimp, cod, tuna, soybeans, tofu, kale, collard greens, and Brussels sprouts.

From all that I read, adding flaxseeds and two servings of tuna or another omega 3 rich non-fried fish twice a week will get me to where I need to be with my omega 3’s for the week.

Flaxseed Sources:

Tempeh with flaxseed in it….I find this at Whole Foods and love to saute it in a tablespoon of olive oil or coconut oil.

You can just sprinkle it in like you would that fiber powder to most anything! Add it to pasta sauce, oatmeal, or even a smoothie. So maybe I’ll add it into my Shakeology!

How do you incorporate flaxseed or omega 3’s in your diet? I’m looking for more ideas!
